The Marion Popcorn Festival’s Recipe Contest will pop to the forefront once again in 2017. Judging will take place on Thursday, September 8, at the Marion Popcorn Festival.
This is a traditional cooking contest where the finished product must be edible and must contain popcorn. The recipes do not need to be original, but the original source must be listed. Judging will be based on the use of popcorn, flavor, creativity, and appropriateness to the food.
All entries must be received by September 4, 2017. Recipes should be emailed to the OSU Extension Office at [email protected]. Participants should include name, address and phone number with the recipe entry.
Finalists will be notified and instructed where to bring their entries between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 7. Alternative arrangements may be requested if a contestant cannot make that time frame. Judging will then take place Thursday at the Marion County Building.
